Russell Laribee finished his UConn Avery Point career with baseball single-season records for total bases, runs scored and RBI, along with the career batting average mark. He moved on to Storrs and batted .304 in two seasons (1976-77) with the Huskies. Drafted by the Boston Red Sox in the 21st round of the 1977 Major League Baseball Draft, he spent five seasons in organization, reaching as high as the AAA level. Laribee was inducted into the UConn Avery Point Athletic Hall of Fame in 2005.
