Bucky Lohbusch was the Most Valuable Player of the New England Tournament in 1990 after guiding the Pointers to the New England title for the first time in program history. He posted an 11-1 record, a single-season high for victories in program history. Lohbusch continued his collegiate career in Storrs and appeared in 19 games over two seasons with the Huskies. After completing his undergraduate degree, he went on to earn a master’s degree in parks and recreation management. He was inducted into the UConn Avery Point Athletic Hall of Fame in 2018.
