Hall of Fame
Mike Blais played a pivotal role in leading the UConn Avery Point baseball team to the 1990 New England Championship. He won 13 games during his time at Avery Point and fanned 103 batters. He moved on to continue his collegiate career in Storrs, where he was a 24th round draft pick of the St. Louis Cardinals in 1992. Blais signed with the Boston Red Sox in 1993 and spent seven seasons in professional baseball, reaching as high as the AAA level. He earned his bachelor’s degree from UConn and went on to complete a master’s degree in business administration/finance at Bowling Green State University. Blais was inducted into the UConn Avery Point Athletic Hall of Fame in 2013.
