Dennis Donovan closed his career as Avery Point’s career leader in earned run average (1.59). From there, he continued to Storrs, where he was a member of the Huskies’ program for three seasons (1978-80). A starter for the 1979 College World Series team, he registered a combined .286 batting average in his three seasons in Storrs. Donovan later signed with and played in the New York Yankees organization. He was inducted into the UConn Avery Point Athletic Hall of Fame in 2003.
