UConn Avery Point baseball fell to CCRI 1-0 on Wednesday on the final play of the game. The game was tied at zero in the bottom of the ninth when Chris Piscione singled, scoring the games only run.

 Both teams were strong on the bump. CCRI pitchers struck out 10, while UConn Avery Point sat down six.

Remy Gorack (Burlington, CT) stepped on the mound first for UConn Avery Point. The left-handed pitcher surrendered four hits and zero runs over six innings, striking out five and walking two. Ryan Erskine (Haddam, CT) took the loss. The right-handed pitcher went two-thirds of an inning, surrendering one run on three hits, striking out one and walking none. Brayden Beard started on the mound for CCRI. The starter allowed one hit and zero runs over six innings, striking out six and walking two.

Roman Hausmann (Danbury, CT) went 2-for-4 at the plate to lead Avery Point. 

CCRI amassed nine hits in the game. 

The Pointers next play Division II rival Monroe Community College (Rochester, NY) on Sunday at Washington Park.
