Darren Gasparri collected three hits in three at bats, as Avery Point baseball remained hot defeating the University of Hartford Hawks 19-3 on Friday. Ironically besting their record to 19-3. Gasparri hit a home run to left field in the second inning, doubled in the fourth inning, and singled in the fifth inning missing the triple for the cycle.
Avery Point scored seven runs on three hits in the top of the second inning. After Gasparri's homer, Tim Cap hit a sacrifice fly, and William Estronza singled with 2 outs and 2 strikes, which plated two runs.
The AP bats remained hot as they scored six runs on four hits in the top of the third inning. Cap came up for his second at bat of the day and hit a towering grand slam to left-center field, and an Aaron Lopresto single scored another two.
Martin Light earned the win surrendering three hits and one run over four innings, striking out three and walking none. Hayden Ferland closed the game throwing 2 strong in relief for Avery Point.
