The UConn Avery Point baseball team swept a doubleheader vs DI Monroe University in New Rochelle, NY on Saturday
In Game 1
Dan Lang (Pomperaug, CT) threw a complete game surrendering only 2 earned and striking out 4. Freshman Ryan Erskine (Haddam, CT) came in relief for the save. John Bureau (East Lyme, CT) paced the offense, reaching base all at bats earning 3 hits as the Pointers bested the Mustangs 4-2.
In Game 2
AJ Montejano (East Lyme, CT) and Roman Hausmann (Danbury, CT) Â and Jayden Sgro (Glastonbury, CT) each had 2 hits as the offense put up 8 runs. Jackson Pray (Haddam, CT) started and earned the win and Erskine earned his second save of the day. The Pointers won 8-6.
This is Avery Point's 11th win in a row and improves their overall record to 16-2. They take on CCRI tomorrow at 12:00P at Roger Bidwell Field in Groton, CT.
