Logan Charboneau hit two home runs and drove in four as UConn Avery Point defeated Rockland CC 11-0 on Friday. Charboneau homered in the fifth and sixth innings.
Avery Point scored seven runs in the fifth inning on the way to victory.
AJ Montejano drew a walk, scoring one run and
James Fagnant tripled breaking the game open scoring three runs.
Tim Cap followed with a walk when Charboneau homered to deep to center field scoring three and expanding the lead to 7.
Four more Pointers crossed the plate in the sixth inning to extend the lead to 11-0. Montejano singled, scoring one run, Cap homered to left field, scoring two runs, and Charboneau hit a solo home run to left field.
Jackson Pray earned the win for Avery Point. The righty allowed just three hits and zero runs over six innings, striking out five and walking two.
Albert Savino came on for the 7th and threw a hitless frame to secure the mercy rule victory.
