The UConn Avery Point Baseball team eliminated Rockland CC by a final of 5-1 on Saturday evening propelling them into the championship day against Lackawanna CC. The winner will head to the NJCAA DII College World Series. 

Following a 9-1 loss to Lackawanna earlier in the day the Avery Point baseball team had to wait for the winner of Rockland/Mercer CC game to finish then faced a rain delay of an hour and a half, while also facing the first 4 innings under consistent rain. 
Through all the adversity Freshman Albert Savino shined by throwing a complete game only surrendering 1 run and getting the Poitners back into the District Championship game!

The Pointers will need to defeat host Lackawanna twice on Sunday to earn the World Series bid. 1st pitch of game 1 is at 12:00P in Scranton, PA.
