GROTON, Conn. - Avery Point swept Monroe Community College in Sunday's doubleheader. They won 3 of the 4 games this weekend series to improve their record to 18-8.

Avery Point won game one 4-3. Bobby Lasbury was the winning pitcher. Xavier Burgos was 2-3 with an RBI double and Elian Collado was 2-4 with a double and walk-off single.

The Pointers took game two 4-0. Liam Chamberlain pitched a complete game shutout while allowing only two hits and striking out 9. Riley Carew was 3-3 with a double, home run and three RBI.

Avery Point plays Monday 4/17 against Holyoke Community College at Washington Park. First pitch is at 3:30 p.m.
