Jim Miller enters his fourth year as an assistant coach for the UConn Avery Point men’s basketball team. Before UConn Avery Point, Coach Miller served as the head coach for various AAU boys basketball teams, including the Breakers, the CT Stars and the CT Spartan Elite. He also served as the head coach for a boys’ high school club team in Vendenheim, France, for a year.
As a player, Coach Miller was an All-Conference player in both high school and college and led the conference in rebounding his senior year. He also played several years with a club team in France.
Off the court, Coach Miller is an Associate Professor of History at the Community College of Rhode Island and holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Health Sciences from Kalamazoo College, a master’s degree in History from Indiana University, and a Ph.D. in History from the University of Chicago. He lives in Norwich with his wife Alita.
