Bats come alive in Mercy Rule Victory

9 different Pointers tallied an RBI

James Fagnant, AJ Montejano and Vinny Hine each collected three hits in, as UConn Avery Point defeated MT St. Charles 18-7 on Tuesday. Fagnant doubled in the second inning, singled in the first inning, singled in the third inning and narrowly missed a homerun in the 5th.

Avery Point collected 14 hits and had 9 different players drive in at least 1 run.
Remy Gorack earned the win and Jack Pichette closed out the final frames.

AP broke the game open to the mercy rule in the top of the 6th when Matt Wood had a bases loaded triple in the right centerfield gap. Followed by a Joel Tiburcio homerun.

The Pointers take on CCRI on Wednesday and will head to New Rochelle, NY to face Division 1 opponent Monroe College on Sunday.
