Groton, Conn. – The Avery Point basketball team continued their recent hot streak as they defeated the Holyoke Cougars at home on Thursday night by a final score of 76-59.

Leading all scorers was Davon Gray (New London, CT) with 21 points. Gray scored 6 points in a row off turnovers in the final 3 minutes making the win all but inevitable.
Syncere Gray (New London, CT). Amassed 13 first half points and finished the game with 19 and 11Boards. Gray, the recent Avery Point player of the week, stayed hot achieving his 4th double/double of the season.

The Cougars came out hot scoring the games first 8 points. The pointers persevered and chipped at the lead, ultimately heading in the locker room at half time with a 7 point lead 39-32.
The Cougars fought hard during the second half but the Pointers kept enough of a buffer that the lead never came into question.  Extending their lead late in the 2nd half to as much as 19 points.

Avery Point (3-7, 3-4 Region XXI) winners of 3 out of their last 4 will return to action on December 9th home vs Quinsigamond Community College at 2:00PM.
